Anna Andreasen presented information on the non-profit MCS Educational Foundation. The sole purpose is to promote educational excellence by providing funds for individual group educational activities for which funds are not available through the usual tax resources.

Past meeting topic:
Jan Vetrhus, Chairperson of the Madison Bicentennial Planning Committee, brought us up-to-date on the upcoming 2009 Madison Bicentennial celebrations. The highlight of the festivities will be a 200-hour Birthday Bash from June 6 through June 14, 2009.

Past meeting topic:
Margaret Seifert shared her pictures and memories of a recent trip to Thailand. She gave an extensive report on her tour of a parasol factory which manufactures the product totally by hand.
